Trains Keep Trade Flowing in the UAE: 459,000 Tons of Goods Transported in 9 Days

Etihad Rail Freight Services, a subsidiary of Etihad Rail, continues its regular and uninterrupted freight operations across the UAE's national rail network, ensuring the continuity of trade throughout the country and enhancing the resilience of national supply chains.

According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, in the past nine days alone, Etihad Rail operated more than 100 freight journeys, transporting over 459,000 tons of goods and more than 7,900 containers across the national network.

The network continues to provide a reliable connection between key industrial areas, ports, and logistics hubs.

To further support network resilience, additional rail corridors have been activated, with multimodal capacity redirected towards East Coast ports and the Al Ghail Dry Port terminal. This is supported by the operation of five additional train journeys to enhance the efficiency and continuity of freight transport.

Operations are proceeding in accordance with approved safety and operational protocols, and the company continues to coordinate with relevant authorities and monitor developments in the region.

Since the launch of freight train operations, the national railway network has become a cornerstone of the UAE’s transport and logistics infrastructure, providing businesses with a reliable, safe, and sustainable means of transport that contributes to enhancing the efficiency and resilience of supply chains.
