Minister of Culture Discusses Museum Cooperation Between Egypt and the UAE with Sheikha Latifa at ICOM Dubai 2025

As part of his participation in the 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) Dubai 2025, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Henou, the Egyptian Minister of Culture, held an important meeting with Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, to discuss ways to enhance cultural cooperation between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting addressed prospects for partnership in the fields of museums, arts, and heritage, in addition to exchanging expertise and knowledge to support the development of the cultural work system and the preservation of human heritage. 

Both sides emphasized the importance of building upon the distinguished cultural relations between the two countries and activating joint initiatives that strengthen cultural identity and reinforce awareness of the history and heritage of the Arab region.

During the meeting, Her Highness Sheikha Latifa congratulated the Arab Republic of Egypt on the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, noting that it represents a unique cultural landmark offering the world a renewed cultural vision that reflects the rich history of Egypt and its global impact.

For his part, the Minister of Culture expressed his appreciation for the constructive Egyptian-Emirati cooperation in the fields of culture and heritage, emphasizing that the partnership between the two countries is a leading Arab model in preserving heritage and developing the museum sector according to the highest international standards.

This meeting is part of the official visit of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Henou to Dubai to participate in the ICOM conference, the world's largest gathering of museum and heritage experts from around the globe.
