Omar Rezig: “And in our imagination… love” came from the heart and resonated with the audience.

Since his early career, Omar Rezig has strived to prove that true talent doesn't need fanfare; it asserts itself through sincerity and simplicity. He is one of the rising stars who combines talent with charisma, and in a short time, he has captured attention with his ability to express complex emotions without exaggeration, as if the camera is capturing the very beat of his heart, not just his facial expressions.

In his new film, “And in our imagination… love,” which premiered at the 8th El Gouna Film Festival, Rezig appeared more mature and experienced, delivering a performance brimming with emotion and humanity. This led many to describe him as one of the leading figures representing a new generation of dramatic talent.

A Purely Emotional Experience

The film, which stirred deep emotions in the theater, was not merely a new milestone in the career of a young artist, but—as Riziq describes it—a purely emotional experience, brimming with nostalgia and heartfelt questions.

Between moments of silence and scenes of love and loss, it was clear that Omar was undertaking a significant acting challenge, testing the sincerity of his performance. This was reflected in the emotional reactions witnessed at the screening, which he himself described as "the most beautiful moment of my life."

Artist Omar Riziq stated that he felt immense pride in having his film, "And We Have Love in Our Imagination," screened at the El Gouna Film Festival. He emphasized that participating in this cinematic event represents a significant step in his artistic journey, noting that the festival provides young filmmakers with a genuine platform to connect with audiences and critics.

Riziq explained that the film's inclusion in the festival program is a testament to the confidence placed in the entire team, stressing that he felt an extraordinary positive energy during the screening, especially after the audience's engagement with the story and the characters' emotions.

Human Relationships from a Different Perspective

He noted that what pleased him most was the strong reaction he witnessed during the film screening. He explained that the audience was deeply moved by the scenes of love and loss, and that some attendees expressed their emotions through tears. This made him feel that the film had truly resonated with people, and that their efforts had been rewarded by the audience's emotional response.

Raziq spoke about the film's theme, saying that "And We Have Love in Our Imagination" explores human relationships from a unique perspective, raising questions about loss, longing, and how love can endure even in the absence of loved ones.

He explained that the work is both psychological and emotional drama, emphasizing that the director chose a simple visual style that effectively conveyed the emotional state of the characters.

A Warm and Love-Filled Behind-the-Scenes Experience

He also expressed his deep appreciation for his colleagues, explaining that the team's collaboration was based on friendship and respect, and that the atmosphere behind the camera was filled with affection, which was reflected in their on-screen performances.

He pointed out that each actor in the film was experiencing their own personal story, resulting in genuine and spontaneous emotions. Omar Rezig emphasized that showing the film at the El Gouna Film Festival is not the end of the journey but its beginning, explaining that the experience gave him new energy to continue, and that he looks forward to the film being a step towards more daring projects, both artistically and humanly.
