ADNOC Logistics Unveils UAE’s First Autonomous Vessel

ADNOC Logistics & Services, a leading global provider of maritime and energy logistics services, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, unveiled the UAE’s first remotely operated landing craft on Thursday, during Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Week 2025.

The 60-meter vessel was designed in collaboration with SeaOwl, marking a significant milestone in maritime technology. Powered by advanced artificial intelligence and satellite-based control systems, the vessel can be remotely operated from ADNOC Logistics & Services’ control center in the Mussafah Industrial Area of Abu Dhabi, contributing to enhanced safety, efficiency, and sustainability standards in maritime logistics.

On this occasion, Captain Abdulkarim Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC Logistics & Services, said: “This achievement is a testament to ADNOC Logistics & Services’ leadership and ongoing efforts to shape the future of maritime logistics.

It also represents a strategic step in the company’s digital transformation journey. By developing AI-powered remote vessel control technology, we are enhancing safety standards, reducing emissions, and improving cost efficiency across our maritime operations, in line with the UAE and ADNOC’s goals for climate neutrality.”

The vessel’s design eliminates the need for a crew, resulting in reduced weight, improved fuel efficiency, and the ability to operate around the clock. The AI-powered “Route Optimization System” is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30 percent compared to conventional vessels.

Construction of the two prototype vessels is scheduled to begin by the end of 2025, with delivery expected in the last quarter of 2026. This will be followed by field trials and safety tests in UAE waters.

Xavier Genin, CEO of Sea All, said: “This collaboration with ADNOC Logistics & Services and the UAE maritime authorities sets a new global standard for autonomous vehicle operations, combining advanced remote control technologies and artificial intelligence to reshape the future of maritime logistics.”
