The IMF and World Bank to Hold Their 2029 Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank announced that their 2029 Annual Meetings will be held in Abu Dhabi, following a vote by the Boards of Governors of both institutions.
The Annual Meetings bring together central bank governors, finance and development ministers, private sector leaders, and others to discuss the most pressing issues facing the global economy.
These meetings are typically held every two years at the World Bank and IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C., and every three years in one of the member countries of the two institutions.
The last time the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings were held in the UAE was in 2003, in Dubai.The 2026 Annual Meetings are scheduled to take place in October in Bangkok, Thailand.
