UAE Hotels See 5.5% Year-on-Year Growth |
UAE Hotels Welcome More Than 16 Million Guests in 6 Months
UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri announced that hotel establishments in the country welcomed more than 16.1 million guests during the first six months of this year, a 5.5% growth compared to the same period in 2024.
Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that Al Marri, while chairing the third meeting of the "Hospitality Advisory Council" for 2025, attended by representatives of the public and private sectors, including directors and presidents of major national and international hotel establishments operating in the country, said that the hospitality sector has witnessed outstanding performance during the past period.
This reflects the sector's resilience and ability to continue growth, enhancing the competitiveness of the country's tourism environment, according to DPA. He emphasized that this sector continues to achieve rising growth rates, reflecting its attractiveness and competitiveness at the regional and global levels. This is a result of the integrated efforts of the public and private sectors, which represent a fundamental pillar for enhancing the sector's sustainability.
Al Marri explained that the Hospitality Advisory Council represents a vital platform for promoting innovative initiatives that contribute to achieving the goals of the National Tourism Strategy 2031 and consolidating the country's position as a leading global tourism destination.
The Council reviewed the most prominent performance indicators of the hospitality sector during the first half of this year, in addition to discussing national initiatives and programs aimed at developing the country's hospitality industry and enhancing its investment opportunities, thus contributing to consolidating the UAE's position as a leading global tourism destination.
The meeting reviewed the performance results of the country's hospitality sector, with the number of hotel occupancy nights increasing to 56 million, a growth rate of 7.3%. The average length of stay reached 3.5 nights, with 1,243 hotel establishments in the country comprising more than 216,000 rooms.
