UAE Foreign Minister and US Secretary of State Discuss Regional Developments by Phone

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed current regional developments during a phone call with His Excellency Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State.

The two sides addressed the repercussions of the brutal and terrorist Iranian missile attacks targeting the UAE and several other countries in the region, and their impact on international peace and security, energy supplies, maritime security, and the stability of the global economy.

During the call, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his gratitude to the friendly United States of America for its full solidarity with the UAE following this Iranian terrorist aggression.

The two sides also reviewed the latest developments in the region, particularly those related to US President Donald Trump's announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran. They discussed ways to achieve sustainable regional peace and security by strengthening collective action to address current challenges and supporting efforts to achieve stability and prosperity for the peoples of the region.

In this context, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan commended the efforts of US President Donald Trump aimed at achieving peace and establishing lasting security and stability at both the regional and international levels.

During the phone call, His Highness also praised the efforts of the US President and Mr. Marco Rubio to achieve peace between Lebanon and Israel, noting that reaching sustainable political solutions is the best way to address crises, thus contributing to strengthening regional security and creating a more stable and prosperous environment for the peoples of the region.

The two sides discussed the growing and evolving strategic relations between the UAE and the United States, and ways to enhance and develop them across all sectors.

His Highness affirmed the strength of the historical relations between the two friendly countries and their continuous development within the framework of a firmly established strategic partnership. He pointed to the shared commitment to further developing this partnership and enhancing cooperation in various vital areas, in order to achieve common interests.
