Abu Dhabi Congratulates Saudi Arabia on Founding Day

UAE leaders congratulate King Salman

Abu Dhabi has sent its warmest congratulations to leaders and people of Saudi Arabia on the kingdom's Founding Day, which recognizes and celebrates three centuries of achievements and generosity, highlighting the country's continued regional and international importance.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, have sent congratulatory messages to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, on the Founding Day of the Kingdom.

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid also congratulated Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion.

Yas Island Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s leading leisure and entertainment hubs, was also covered in green in celebration of Saudi Arabia’s second Founding Day

A royal order issued by King Salman bin Abdulaziz in January of last year declared February 22 as the Kingdom’s Founding Day and an annual public holiday, honoring the foundation of the Emirate of Diriyah as the First Saudi State in 1727.

The UAE’s participation in the Kingdom’s celebrations on this occasion confirms the special and strong fraternal relations that bind the leaders and peoples of the two brotherly countries, which have become a real depth for Gulf, Arab and regional action and one of the most important pillars of stability, development and prosperity in the region.

The UAE tops the list of favorite tourist destinations for Saudi tourists when traveling abroad, as during the period from January to November of last year 2021, the UAE received more than 535,000 Saudi guests in its hotels, who spent nearly 1.7 million nights in the country’s hotel facilities.
