Egypt and the UAE are collaborating on AI for Early Detection of  autism and genomic research.


Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Healthcare, conducted a series of meetings and field visits aimed at strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise in health innovation and medical technology between Egypt and the UAE during his participation in the WHX 2026 World Health Exhibition and Conference held at Expo Centre Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.


Dr. El-Sobky met with Dr. Yousef Mohammed Al-Serkal, Chairman of the Emirates Health Services Corporation, to enhance institutional relations and expand areas of joint cooperation between the two sides, thereby leveraging leading regional and international experiences.

The Chairman of the Healthcare Authority also visited the Emirates Health Services Corporation pavilion at the exhibition, where he received a briefing from the corporation's leadership on the latest innovations and advanced solutions in healthcare and medical technology, as well as the digital transformation models implemented within the UAE's healthcare system.


The two sides discussed areas of cooperation across several strategic axes, including the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare, supporting early detection programs for autism spectrum disorder, establishing specialized platforms for genomics research, exploring the use of AI-assisted nursing care, and enhancing the efficiency and quality of healthcare services.

Healthcare sector explores establishing a similar center at the virtual hospital in Ismailia.


 He was briefed on the simulation-based medical training and education system and the comprehensive training environment the center provides, which replicates real hospitals. This contributes to developing clinical skills, enhancing patient safety, and supporting evidence-based medical training.


The Chairman of the Healthcare Authority emphasized the importance of exchanging and transferring expertise in advanced medical simulation and leveraging the center's pioneering experiences. This aligns with the Authority's plans to establish a similar center within its virtual hospital in Ismailia Governorate, the first virtual hospital in Africa. This initiative aims to enhance the continuing medical education system, elevate the capabilities of medical and technical staff, and support the implementation of global best practices within the Authority's facilities.

The Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Medical Simulation Center is the largest medical simulation center in Dubai. Operating under the supervision of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, it offers advanced clinical training and continuing professional development programs, along with innovative community initiatives, including the "Teddy Bear Hospital" program.

It is worth noting that the WHX 2026 World Health Exhibition and Conference, formerly known as Arab Health, is one of the largest and most important global platforms specializing in the health sector. 


It brings together international health leaders, policymakers, investors, leading companies, and healthcare providers, contributing to the promotion of innovation, the exchange of expertise, the support of international cooperation, and the showcasing of the latest medical solutions and technologies worldwide.
