A Saudi-UAE-US-Egyptian quartet statement called for the importance of achieving a humanitarian truce in Sudan lasting up to three months, emphasizing the need to protect civilians and deliver aid urgently to the country.

At the same time, the quartet statement emphasized the importance of halting foreign military support to end the conflict in Sudan. It also emphasized the importance of achieving international commitment to a comprehensive and transparent transitional process in Sudan, and called for paving the way for a permanent ceasefire in Sudan.

The statement issued today emphasized the importance of dialogue as the only path to stability in Sudan and emphasized the need not to resort to a "military solution in Sudan." The quartet statement also pledged to end the conflict in Sudan.

In addition, Sudanese Prime Minister Kamal Idris stressed that Saudi Arabia has played a significant role in supporting Sudan, revealing a visit to Riyadh within days. He also explained that "Egypt will find full support from Khartoum in the future in return for everything it has provided."
