A high-level panel discussion on human rights in the UAE will be held today, Tuesday, in Geneva, where experts and specialists from thirteen international human rights groups, a number of which have consultative status with the United Nations, will launch the shadow report on the United Arab Emirates submitted to the forty-third session of the Universal Periodic Review. The symposium will be held remotely via the "Zoom" application, and international experts in law and human rights will participate in it, as well as a number of social networking sites, through which officials responsible for the participating organizations will participate in preparing the report.

The symposium will bring together experts, specialists and academics in human rights, media, and human development, especially the universal periodic review mechanism, representing a wide range of relevant government sectors, national human rights institutions, and international non-governmental organizations.

The symposium will address the role and influence of the media on human rights issues, with the participation of a group of media professionals, academics, and representatives of centers of studies, research, thought, and opinion. The panel discussion will also include experts from many well-known international organizations. In addition to many international experts to discuss various aspects related to human rights.
 
The session will be moderated by Dr. Christine Miri of the Conscience and Freedom Organization, and Counselor Ayman Nasri of the Arab-European Forum for Dialogue and Human Rights, organizing the event, will raise the importance and role of the universal periodic review mechanism and the contributions of non-governmental organizations to it, and the importance of the report in strengthening the status of the state, during the universal periodic review of the state in its third session. forty.

At the same time, Dr. Manel Masalmi of the European Association for the Defense of Minorities sheds light on the UAE's efforts and achievements in economic, social, cultural and environmental rights.

Many other speakers from well-known organizations around the world will talk about the importance of human rights and the efforts the UAE is making in the region.
 
Counselor Mahmoud Bassiouni, member of the Egyptian National Council for Human Rights, will participate in the panel discussion, shedding light on the use of the media to undermine achievements in the field of human rights.

The session will conclude with an open discussion on the importance of reports in the field of human rights and the role of the media in highlighting the efforts and achievements of countries concerned with human rights.
