Saudi Arabia’s Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Hussein Al-Bayari on Saturday met China’s State Councilor and Minister of National Defense Gen. Wei Fenghe.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 19th Shangri-La Dialogue security summit in Singapore. Al-Bayari led the Kingdom’s delegation to the summit.

During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries in the defense and military fields were reviewed and a number of issues of mutual concern were discussed.

The event is being attended by defense, interior and foreign ministers as well as senior government officials, military analysts and decision-makers in the diplomatic and security arenas of more than 30 countries.

The summit, organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, is scheduled to discuss a number of important issues, topped by the regional security situation, cooperation and exchange in defense, and enhancing security partnerships in Asia and the Pacific.

China and Saudi Arabia have been deepening their political mutual trust and expanding cooperation in various fields, and the two are good friends and partners that trust each other, share mutual benefits, and develop together, Wei said.
