The world lauds UAE evacuation efforts

As countries around the world rush to get their citizens and diplomats out of Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates has been at the forefront of the Muslim world, helping Afghan families who fled the country and stranded passengers at the airports in Afghanistan.

Starting from August 27, UAE has facilitated the evacuation of more than 39,000 people stranded in Afghanistan, second only to the USA. Among the Muslim countries, UAE has taken the lead.

UAE has started hosting Afghan families, especially women and children, and has committed to take all necessary measures to provide them with care and social support in the country.

UAE has also agreed to host 5,000 Afghans fleeing from Afghanistan and in transit to other countries. The announcement came at the request of the U.S., after which UAE decided to host Afghan nationals temporarily on humanitarian grounds.

The world has also acknowledged the efforts of UAE. On a call with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, U.S. President Joe Biden appreciated the efforts of UAE for evacuating the citizens of different countries from Afghanistan.

Similarly, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison thanked UAE for evacuating its citizens from Afghanistan. Other countries, including the U.K., also appreciated the evacuation efforts of UAE during the current situation.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed received a telephone call from Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, during which Sánchez expressed his gratitude for the UAE's efforts in evacuating Spanish citizens, as well as a number of members of diplomatic missions of friendly countries, from Afghanistan.

The initiative by the UAE government is taken on the directions of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
