Egypt's Semna Returns to the Gold Map with New Discoveries

From the Pharaohs to the Present... Egypt's Semna Returns to the Gold Map with New Discoveries

Canadian company Aton Resources announced encouraging results from the third phase of its drilling program in the Semna area, located within the Abu Marawat Concession in Egypt's Arabian-Nubian Shield. These results revealed high concentrations of gold in several locations within the area.

The company explained in a statement that it has so far completed the drilling of 44 wells totaling 5,257 meters. The results of 25 of these wells have been analyzed, revealing strong indications of high-quality gold, enhancing the mining potential of the area.

The Semna area is located 27 kilometers from Hamama and 13 kilometers from Rodroin. It is considered one of the areas with a long history of gold mining, dating back to the Pharaonic era and up to the early 20th century. Aton stated that it has temporarily suspended drilling operations in Samna to move equipment to the Hamama area to drill water wells, as part of preparations to build the project's infrastructure. Drilling in Samna will resume within the next two months.

The company also revealed plans to begin a new drilling program in the Abu Marawat area within the next four weeks. This is part of its efforts to include the Samna and Abu Marawat areas in the initial feasibility study launched last year, as .part of a strategy to develop several mining projects within the concession
