Experts and specialists in the health sector affirmed that UAE Medical Day, observed annually on May 9th, embodies the nation's unwavering commitment to building an advanced and sustainable healthcare system based on innovation, modern technology, prevention, and quality of life. This commitment reinforces the UAE's position as a global model for future healthcare.


In statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), they said that thanks to this commitment, the UAE has become one of the world's leading countries in providing human-centered healthcare.


Her Excellency Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, stated that UAE Medical Day reflects appreciation for healthcare professionals and their role in improving community health and quality of life by providing comprehensive healthcare based on commitment, compassion, and meeting the needs of the community.


She added that the healthcare sector in the UAE continues to achieve remarkable progress, supported by the wise leadership and the efforts of healthcare professionals. This progress is achieved through the adoption of a comprehensive approach that integrates prevention, early detection, and personalized care, supported by smart technologies and data analysis. 


This approach enhances the efficiency of the healthcare experience and supports more informed and proactive health decisions. The UAE reaffirmed its commitment to building a sustainable, human-centered healthcare system that enhances the readiness and capacity of the health sector to support community health and quality of life for future generations.


Dr. Abdullah Hamed Kazim, Quality and Institutional Excellence Consultant at Response Plus Holding Group, explained that the healthcare sector is undergoing a rapid transformation driven by modern technology and artificial intelligence. This transformation contributes to the development of more precise, efficient, and patient-focused services, enhancing the quality of care and medical excellence.


He noted that the UAE's investments in digital transformation and modern medical infrastructure have accelerated the adoption of smart healthcare solutions and improved the efficiency of medical services, reinforcing the UAE's position as a leading model in advanced healthcare.


He added that modern technologies, including artificial intelligence in medical imaging, genomics, precision medicine, and remote health monitoring, are playing a pivotal role in providing faster, more proactive, and specialized care, thus supporting prevention and quality of care.


He emphasized that information exchange platforms like "Malafi" provide an advanced digital infrastructure that supports data integration among healthcare providers, enhancing the efficiency of medical decisions and improving the patient experience. 


He noted that the future of healthcare is moving towards an integrated model that combines medical expertise with advanced technology to build a sustainable and innovative healthcare system.


Amr Saeed, Executive Director of Diabetes and Obesity at Lilly for the Gulf region, stated that the advanced healthcare environment in the UAE, characterized by sophisticated regulatory frameworks, rapid adoption of modern technologies, and close collaboration between the public and private sectors, has contributed to translating innovation into tangible results.

Osama Al-Hajj, General Manager and Head of Human Pharma for the Near East and UAE at Boehringer Ingelheim, affirmed that UAE Medical Day reflects the progress the country has made in building an innovation-based healthcare system and improving patient outcomes.


 This is achieved through establishing early diagnosis, developing more effective treatment options, and supporting patients and medical staff. He emphasized the commitment to supporting these efforts, particularly in the areas of stroke and chronic diseases.
