Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Enhances Safety and Prevention Measures at Liwa International Festival 2026
The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority is participating in securing the Liwa International Festival 2026 events, as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure the highest standards of prevention and safety at major events held in the emirate.
The Authority emphasized its commitment to enhancing safety during the festival by raising awareness among visitors and instilling a culture of safety. The Authority’s field inspection teams are conducting a series of daily tours to ensure the readiness of festival facilities, fire suppression systems, the effectiveness of emergency exits and evacuation plans, and assembly points.
The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority signed a cooperation agreement with the Advanced Technology Research Council, aiming to enhance collaboration in the fields of artificial intelligence, develop integrated strategies, and prepare specialized national cadres that contribute to strengthening and sustaining safety and civil protection in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The agreement was signed by Brigadier Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, and Shihab Issa Abu Shihab, Director General of the Advanced Technology Research Council, as part of the drive to adopt smart and sustainable solutions that contribute to enhancing the efficiency of the civil defence system.
Brigadier Salem Al Dhaheri emphasized that this partnership represents a qualitative addition to the development of prevention and safety tools and technologies. He noted that employing artificial intelligence in the civil defence sector reflects the Authority's commitment to keeping pace with global developments and harnessing them to serve the community and enhance preparedness to face various challenges.
Shihab Abu Shihab affirmed that this partnership represents a major step towards utilizing research and development to serve Abu Dhabi's priorities. He pointed out that the agreement enhances the research system's ability to transform advanced technologies into tangible solutions that contribute to strengthening safety and protection for the community, and underscores the Council's role as a key driver of smart innovations in the emirate.
