UAE President, Italian Prime Minister Discuss Relations

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni discussed various avenues of cooperation between the UAE and Italy within the framework of the strategic partnership that brings the two countries together. This came during a bilateral meeting at the government headquarters in Rome, as part of a "state visit" by the UAE President to Italy.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the continuous development witnessed by the two countries' relations, especially in the fields of economy, investment, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy and sustainability, in addition to cultural aspects, in light of their strategic partnership, which is an important framework for pushing their development relations forward and achieving the aspirations of their peoples.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the UAE-Italian relations date back to the first year of the founding of the UAE and have developed over the past decades until they reached the level of a strategic partnership , stressing the UAE's keenness to achieve the goals of this partnership and raise it to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.

In this context, he said that the volume of non-oil trade between the two countries reached $14.1 billion in 2024, an increase of 21.2 percent compared to 2023, and by strengthening joint work, trade exchange between the two countries will continue to increase.

The UAE President pointed out the interest of the UAE and Italy in cooperating in the field of sustainability and renewable energy, in addition to artificial intelligence and innovation, noting His Highness the cultural dimension of the UAE-Italian relations and the keenness to strengthen bridges of interaction and cultural cooperation between the two countries and their peoples.

He added: We look forward to the UAE's $40 billion investment in Italy, which was announced, contributing to achieving development and prosperity for the two countries and their peoples. For her part, the Italian Prime Minister expressed her country's keenness to continue strengthening cooperation relations with the UAE to achieve the mutual interests of the two countries.
