Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, confirmed that the UAE continues to achieve unprecedented historical figures in its foreign trade.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum wrote on X (formerly Twitter) "In a historic achievement for our national economy... our foreign trade touched 3 trillion dirhams for the first time by the end of 2024... My brother Mohammed bin Zayed, may God protect him, has been keen in recent years to build unprecedented economic bridges with various countries of the world... and today we are reaping the fruits."

He continued, saying: "While global trade grew by 2 percent in 2024, the UAE's non-oil foreign trade grew at a rate seven times that rate, achieving an amazing growth of 14.6 percent."

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said, “The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements, sponsored by my brother Mohammed bin Zayed, added AED 135 billion to our non-oil trade with the countries with which agreements were signed, with an amazing and exceptional growth of 42 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid explained, “In 2021, we set a target to increase the UAE’s foreign trade to AED 4 trillion annually by 2031. By the end of 2024, we have already achieved 75 percent of this target. At this pace, we will reach our goal years ahead of schedule.”

He said, “The UAE is singing outside the global economic flock… and outside the flock of traditional global trade growth… because the economy comes before politics… and building bridges is a priority for it with all peoples… and its pursuit of stability is the key to prosperity.”

“The UAE has specific, higher economic goals… and a clear vision… and the world makes way for those who know what they want,” according to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
