UAE sends 5 automated bakeries to Gaza

UAE to operate Gaza bakeries as part of Gallant Knight aid

Five automated bakeries provided by the UAE for the people of Gaza arrived in Egypt’s Al-Arish city on Sunday, reported state news agency WAM.

There has been a severe shortage of bread in Gaza, and these bakeries are expected to feed more than 420,000 people a day.

The production capacity of each bakery is about 17,500 loaves per hour.

The UAE will also be providing flour, diesel, and other support to ensure the bakeries operate 24 hours a day.

In addition, the UAE will pay the salaries of the people who will operate and supervise the bakeries in Gaza. The initiative is part of the country’s “Gallant Knight 3” humanitarian operation to support the people of Gaza.

The UAE also launched six water desalination plants with a capacity of around 1.2 million gallons per day for the benefit of Gaza’s residents.

In a statement, Rashid Mubarak Al-Mansouri, secretary-general of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, said the UAE would continue to assist the people of Gaza, and help reduce the suffering of those affected by the war.

The UAE has now provided Gaza’s people with 15,700 tonnes of aid, which was sent on 162 cargo planes.
