Saudi Arabia is making leaps in cyber security

Cybersecurity leaders showcase at Black Hat MEA in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia is making leaps across several global indices to position itself as a frontrunner in technology and cybersecurity on the global and regional level, a top Cisco official said.

The kingdom is making impressive advances in the domain. For the second year running, it ranks second in the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU’s) Global Cybersecurity Index.

The kingdom is hosting Black Hat Middle East and Africa in Riyadh. The event, which runs from Nov. 14-16 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, is organized by Tahaluf in collaboration with the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming, and Drones.

The second edition of the world’s fastest growing cybersecurity event "Black Hat" was launched Tuesday at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center (RFECC) featuring the participation of experts, speakers, and investors.

Themed “Infosec on the Edge,” the leading cybersecurity conference and exhibition is expected to gather more than 40,000 infosec professionals, 300+ exhibitors and 300+ world-renowned speakers from over 120 countries.

The Black hat event runs until November 16, featuring the participation of renowned exhibitors such as IBM, Cisco, Huawei, Spire Solutions, Trend Micro, Mandiant, Google Cloud, Cloud flare, Qualys, Illumio, SITE, Mobily, Cyberani, Al Moammar Information Systems, Haboob, and Sirar by stc, DSS Shield, Cipher, among many others.

Kaspersky, a renowned global cybersecurity firm, is set to make a significant appearance at the Black Hat 2023 conference, a notable event in the cybersecurity industry. Black Hat is recognized as a key gathering for industry experts to exchange insights on the latest cybersecurity trends and challenges.

Kaspersky will take center stage to showcase its newly launched Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution, which allows organizations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to leverage Kaspersky's experts while saving IT security teams’ resources for threat analysis, investigation, and response.
