INTERSEC, a leading trade fair for safety, security, and fire protection, is back for a new edition at the Dubai World Trade Center from 17–19 January, with the renewed presence of French companies.
Intersec is truly global, expecting around 1000 exhibitors from around the world – and an incredible 80% of the companies exhibiting are travelling from as far afield as the USA, Europe and Asia, in addition to the wider Middle East region.
The five pillars of Intersec are Commercial & Perimeter Security, Homeland Security, Fire & Rescue, Safety & Health, and Cyber Security.
30,000 security, emergency response, safety, and cybersecurity professionals will attend this major event, with more than 10,000 products that will be exhibited, demonstrating the vitality of the sector in the MENA region.
Cybersecurity and technological breakthrough will be in the spotlight at Intersec 2023 this year with the support of government partners: the Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC) and the UAE Cyber Security Council.
By 2026, the Middle East and Africa cyber security market is expected to be worth USD 2893.40 million. The rapid digitalization of the UAE and Saudi Arabia has opened the door to cyberattacks.
Intersec will host experts in the field from all walks of life to address these issues. French expertise will contribute to the state of the art in emerging technologies in a unique awareness-raising session organized by DESC as part of Digital Dubai and Cybernode’s initiative, developed in partnership with the French company Thales, a world leader in cybersecurity and data protection technologies.
Cybernode aims to develop an advanced and specialized cyber workforce to foster innovation, support digital economic growth, and contribute to the development of new technologies.
In November 2020, the UAE Cabinet agreed to establish the UAE Cybersecurity Council with the aim of developing a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy and creating a safe and strong cyber infrastructure in the UAE.
The UAE was ranked fifth globally for a robust cybersecurity infrastructure as per the Global Cybersecurity Index 2020 report, issued by International Telecommunication Union.
