UAE Reports 161 Injuries Following Attacks; Manama: We Destroyed 147 Missiles
Amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the UAE announced it had intercepted 7 ballistic missiles and 16 drones launched from Iran, while Bahrain's air defenses intercepted 2 missiles and 36 drones in the past few hours. This comes amidst Gulf condemnation of Iran's continued "brutal aggression."
In a related development, the UAE stated that its air defenses have intercepted 352 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,789 drones since the start of the blatant Iranian attacks. Two members of the armed forces were killed in the line of duty, along with six civilians of Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationalities.
The UAE reported approximately 161 injuries, ranging from minor to moderate to severe, among Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, Turkish, Iraqi, Nepalese, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, Palestinian, Ghanaian, Indonesian, Swedish, and Tunisian nationals.
Meanwhile, the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force announced that its air defense systems had intercepted successive waves of Iranian terrorist attacks since the start of the brutal aggression, destroying 147 missiles and 282 drones targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The General Command emphasized that the use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilian infrastructure and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter, and that these indiscriminate and heinous attacks represent a direct threat to regional peace and security.
