Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, affirmed that developing the government work system and investing in human capital are fundamental pillars of the UAE's vision.


They also represent a practical reflection of its strategic directions within the framework of the UAE Vision 2031, which aims to build a more efficient, agile, and forward-looking government.


This came during the ceremony honoring the winners of the second cycle of the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Award for Institutional Excellence, organized by the Ministry at Sustainable City in Dubai. 


The award recognizes their outstanding efforts and significant contributions to developing government work and enhancing institutional performance, reinforcing the Ministry's approach to promoting a culture of excellence and appreciating achievement.


He explained that the award aligns its criteria and requirements with the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Government Performance, thus promoting a culture of innovation and institutional excellence. It contributes to a genuine qualitative leap in performance and administrative practices through the application of institutional and functional excellence standards, supporting continuous improvement processes, and enhancing performance efficiency.


He stated that empowering national talent, fostering a culture of innovation, and incentivizing outstanding performance are fundamental pillars for ensuring the readiness of government entities and their ability to achieve a sustainable developmental impact. Institutional excellence is not a temporary objective, but rather a sustainable strategic approach that reflects our vision for building a future based on efficiency and creativity.


He added that the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure operates according to a clear strategic vision and actionable future plans that focus on developing policies and procedures, enhancing the efficiency of human resources, and adopting innovative solutions. This strengthens the quality of government services and supports the competitiveness and leadership of the UAE in the energy, infrastructure, and transportation sectors.


He noted that the Ministry continues to implement an integrated approach to developing the government work system, focusing on enhancing institutional efficiency, improving the work environment, streamlining procedures, and raising the readiness of functional teams. This approach aims to achieve integration between strategic planning and effective implementation, and to strengthen the ability to keep pace with changes and anticipate future opportunities.


Dr. Ibrahim Salman, Head of Government Performance and Excellence in the UAE Government and General Coordinator of the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program, explained that the culture of excellence is deeply rooted in the UAE government and constitutes a firmly established approach to government work.


He pointed out that excellence has become part of the state's institutional identity, and that the new directions of the excellence system require more flexible tools that keep pace with the aspirations of the evolving leadership, with a focus on developing measurement and methodologies based on results and actual impact.


He emphasized that the next phase will focus on strengthening integration and partnership among government entities, which will reflect positively on the quality of life for the community and solidify proactive government performance based on impact measurement, further enhancing the UAE's leadership.
