A plan to achieve 35% annual growth in Egyptian garment exports

Total clothing exports in 9 months amounted to $2.5 billion

Egypt's ready-made garment exports jump 22% in nine months

Egypt's ready-made garment exports increased by 22% during the first nine months of this year. According to data issued by the Egyptian Ready-Made Garments Export Council, total exports from January to the end of September reached approximately $2.5 billion, compared to $2.05 billion during the same period last year, an increase of $0.45 billion.

The council's monthly report indicated that the sector has been performing exceptionally well since the beginning of 2025, as part of a plan targeting annual growth of 30-35% within the framework of increasing exports to $12 billion by 2030.

Council Chairman Fadel Marzouq emphasized the sector's continued activity in international markets to maintain its momentum in the last quarter of 2025, projecting exports of $3.6 billion by the end of the year, the highest historical target for the sector.

He stated that the sector's exports to European markets grew by 30% to reach $637 million in the first nine months of 2025, noting that European markets remain promising for the ready-made garment sector. He added, "However, we have a plan to focus on a number of markets outside Europe to diversify our export markets."

He noted the growth in ready-made garment exports to the US market, reaching approximately $990 million, a 13% increase compared to $875 million.

The US market is considered the most important market for the Egyptian ready-made garment sector due to the Qualifying Industrial Zones (QIZ) agreement. He added that the Saudi market is one of the most promising markets for Egyptian exports, having achieved a 116% jump during the first nine months of 2025, with exports reaching $283 million.
