Egypt Appreciates Trump's Efforts to Stop the War in Gaza
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi praised the efforts led by US President Donald Trump to immediately end the war in Gaza, in connection with the recent summit meeting between the Arab-Islamic Group and the United States, which was held in a positive atmosphere.
This came during a meeting between Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty and his US counterpart Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the United Nations General Assembly. Minister Badr Abdel Aty stressed the need to intensify joint efforts to stop the bloodshed and prevent attempts to displace Palestinians.
The meeting discussed ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States and the decades-long bilateral relations. The two ministers affirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in various fields to achieve the interests of the two friendly peoples and support stability in the region.
The two ministers also discussed the situation in Sudan in light of the efforts of the International Quartet and its meeting. Minister Abdel Aty reiterated Egypt's firm position and support for efforts to end the crisis in a manner that preserves Sudan's unity, integrity, and sovereignty, as well as the role of its national institutions and the capabilities of its brotherly people.
The two ministers agreed to continue close coordination and consultation between the two countries within the framework of the strategic partnership, and to continue dialogue during the next phase.
