Trump to Gulf Leaders: You Are Admired by the World

As the Gulf-US summit began in Riyadh on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump told Gulf leaders, "You are admired by the world." He added that the Middle East can be prosperous with peace, noting that the Gulf states are among the most stable and prosperous countries.

US President Donald Trump told the Gulf leaders, "You are admired by the world." He added that the Middle East can be prosperous with peace, noting that the Gulf states are among the most stable and prosperous countries.

Regarding Syria, he explained that he "ordered the lifting of sanctions after consultations with Prince Mohammed bin Salman." He continued, saying that "lifting the sanctions will give them a great opportunity," noting that he will completely lift the sanctions on Syria. He also indicated that Washington is seeking to normalize relations with the new Syrian government.

Iran and the Nuclear

Regarding the Iranian issue, Trump said, "I want to make a deal with Tehran, but it

must stop supporting terrorism." He emphasized that "Iran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon." He also said, "Iran must stop supporting proxy wars in the region."

Lebanon... and Hezbollah

Regarding Lebanon, he said, "There is an opportunity for a future free of Hezbollah's grip in Lebanon," adding, "The Lebanese president can build a state free of Hezbollah." He also added, "Lebanon has a new opportunity with the new president and prime minister."

It is worth noting that the leaders of the Gulf states and their representatives had arrived earlier today in Riyadh to participate in the Gulf-US summit, following a busy day in the Saudi capital, filled with discussions and agreement signings between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the US president. Trump is expected to later head to Qatar, the second stop on his first official foreign tour.
