Saudi Foreign Minister: We Will Continue to Support the "New Syria"
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed on Saturday the Kingdom's continued support for the "New Syria.
" Faisal bin Farhan said at a press conference with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani in Damascus: "Our contribution to lifting sanctions is an affirmation of brotherly support for brotherly support, and we will continue to do so in support of the new Syria and its people," according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The Saudi minister added: "Lifting sanctions will contribute to boosting the economy and will have a positive impact on the Syrian people and improve their living conditions." He continued: "Syria has many opportunities, and the Syrian people are capable of innovation, achievement, and building their country, and we are with them in this.
" Bin Farhan indicated that he and the accompanying delegation reviewed "opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in a way that reflects fraternal cooperation, and we look forward to strengthening the partnership between the two countries."
He confirmed that "Saudi delegations will later visit Damascus in the fields of energy, agriculture, information technology, and others," adding that he discussed "with President al-Sharaa opportunities for cooperation in all fields and supporting economic recovery." Bin Farhan concluded his speech by stating that "Saudi Arabia and Qatar will provide joint financial support to public sector workers in Syria."
For his part, Al-Shaibani praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its support for the Syrian people and leadership, noting that "the Syrian government's priority is to rebuild the country's economy and return skilled workers. " Al-Shaibani explained that "investment cooperation with Saudi Arabia will create job opportunities in Syria." According to Al-Shaibani, "We discussed many topics, especially in the fields of economy and energy, and I extend my sincere thanks to the Kingdom for its support for Syria since the liberation, especially in lifting sanctions."
Al-Shaibani considered that "lifting sanctions is a beginning, and we have taken serious steps to provide services to citizens, and we signed an agreement two days ago with international companies to secure the gas needed to generate electricity."
He stressed that "our choice in Syria is economic sovereignty, and the strength of our partnership with Saudi Arabia lies in our shared interests." Al-Shaibani explained that "the reconstruction of Syria will not be imposed from outside, but rather by the Syrian people, and we welcome all contributions in this area."
