Under Emirati auspices: Prisoner exchange between Russia and the US
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday the success of a prisoner exchange between the United States and Russia, during which a Russian citizen and an American citizen were exchanged, in the presence of representatives of relevant authorities from both countries.
The Ministry expressed its gratitude to the governments of the United States and Russia for their confidence in the United Arab Emirates and for choosing Abu Dhabi as the location for the exchange.
The Ministry stated that the two countries' choice of Abu Dhabi for the exchange reflects the close friendship between them and the UAE, noting its hope that these efforts will contribute to efforts to reduce tensions and promote dialogue and understanding, achieving security and stability at the regional and international levels.
