AED 473 Billion.. National Content Program's Contribution to the UAE Economy
The National Content Program continues its competitive contributions to the UAE economy. Salama Al Haj Al Awadhi, Senior Vice President of Group Commercial, In-Country Value, and Industrial Development at ADNOC, confirmed that the National Content Program has successfully redirected more than AED 473 billion into the national economy since its launch in 2018, including AED 307 billion through the ADNOC Group.
This came during her participation in the Abu Dhabi Global Entrepreneurship Festival, which kicked off today in Abu Dhabi. She noted that the program was launched with the aim of recycling procurement within the national economy, which has contributed to empowering national companies that now operate within ADNOC's supply chain.
She added that the National Content Program contributes to empowering the entrepreneurship ecosystem and building local companies capable of competing globally. She pointed out that the industrial sector is one of the most prominent sectors that entrepreneurs should focus on due to the promising opportunities it offers, thus supporting self-sufficiency in sectors of national priority.
She noted that ADNOC has played a pivotal role in the "Make in the UAE" platform since its launch in 2022, a role that has strengthened with each iteration. ADNOC has become a key partner and enabler of the platform through its scale of operations, its associated supply chains, and its clear vision of demand and procurement. This has contributed to transforming opportunities into viable industrial projects and empowering manufacturers and investors to expand confidently within the UAE.
She explained that this role is reflected in ADNOC's National Content Enhancement Program, particularly through its offtake program. This program focuses on identifying imported products that can be manufactured locally through long-term purchase agreements. ADNOC has identified national manufacturing opportunities worth AED 90 billion by 2030, and contracts exceeding AED 80 billion have already been signed.
She noted that in 2025, AED 65 billion was redirected to the national economy, bringing the total value redirected through the ADNOC Group to AED 307 billion since the program's launch in 2018. The program, in partnership with the Nafis program, has also contributed to creating more than 23,000 job opportunities for Emirati nationals in the private sector.
She added that 135 key industrial products have been manufactured locally to date, along with investments exceeding AED 4.5 billion in developing advanced manufacturing facilities and technologies, thus enhancing the competitiveness and resilience of the national industrial sector.
