The UAE Reaffirms its Commitment to a Fair Digital Future for Children

The UAE affirmed its commitment to working with its partners worldwide to build a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable digital future for children, where education serves as a bridge to opportunity and technology as a tool for empowering individuals and expanding the horizons of future generations.

This stems from the UAE's wise leadership's belief that the true wealth of nations lies in creative minds capable of innovation and shaping the future.

This statement was delivered by Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the "Enhancing the Future Together" Global Summit, hosted by Washington, D.C., on March 24 and 25.

The summit, launched by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, saw the participation of leaders from 45 countries and 28 of the world's leading technology companies, aiming to establish a global alliance dedicated to protecting children's prosperity and empowering them with the tools of digital progress through education and technology.

The UAE’s participation in the “Enhancing the Future Together” summit underscores its global leadership in shaping digital policies and reaffirms its role as an active partner in international alliances aimed at ensuring the well-being of future generations.

Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif headed the UAE delegation to the summit, which included Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, UAE Minister of State; Talal Al Qaisi, CEO of Core42; and Noureddine Hadi, CEO of Base71. The delegation actively participated in the high-level discussions during the summit.

In her opening remarks on the second day of the summit, Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif conveyed the greetings of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and her special appreciation to First Lady Melania Trump for her continued support of the “Enhancing the Future Together” initiative.

She affirmed that the "Strengthening the Future Together" initiative embodies a profound understanding that the future of the world will not be shaped solely in laboratories, but rather in the decisions we make today for our children. She emphasized that this meeting is not merely about technology as an end in itself, but about guiding it to be a tool for good and empowerment, and a bridge towards a more just and sustainable future that safeguards the rights of future generations in a safe digital world.

She added, "2026 has been declared the Year of the Family in the UAE, and in this regard, we affirm that building the future of children in the digital age begins with empowering the family itself, as the primary incubator of awareness and values, and the guarantor of our children's balance between technological openness and their established identity."

She pointed to the UAE's wise leadership's focus on children's digital lives, which reflects a forward-looking vision recognizing that education and technology are two fundamental pillars for preparing a generation equipped with knowledge and skills, capable of thriving confidently in a rapidly changing world, while preserving its value system and remaining rooted in its cultural heritage.

She highlighted the UAE's approach based on investing in Humanity, through adopting an integrated vision linking education, technology, and innovation, and harnessing artificial intelligence technologies to develop the educational system and build the capabilities of future generations, is emphasized.

The importance of strengthening international cooperation to make digital knowledge accessible to all, develop future skills, and build effective partnerships between governments, the private sector, and educational institutions is also stressed, ensuring a more equitable and sustainable digital future.

She added, "The UAE's participation in the summit stems from a long-standing strategic relationship with the United States, based on cooperation in all fields, particularly innovation, education, and technology, which enhances opportunities to build a more balanced global model that places humanity at the heart of digital transformation.

" She commended the vision led by Mrs. Melania Trump through this initiative, which affirms that the future of children in this era has become a shared international responsibility requiring the combined efforts of governments and technology institutions.

Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif pointed out that building the desired digital future requires close international cooperation based on three fundamental principles: first, ensuring equitable access to digital knowledge for every child; second, developing future skills such as critical thinking and creativity; and third, strengthening partnerships between governments and the private sector to ensure that technology remains a tool for human empowerment and expansion. Her vision is not a source of inequality.

She concluded her remarks by emphasizing that true technology is that which opens up vast opportunities for humanity to reach its full potential, noting that the shape of societies in the coming decades will be determined by how successfully we place children at the heart of every educational policy and every technological innovation.

The “Strengthening the Future Together” summit is an international alliance of countries that share a common vision for empowering children through education and technology. First Lady Melania Trump presented her vision for establishing this alliance during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
