The UAE has cemented its international standing as a leading global AI leader, with a recent study by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) ranking 42% of the country's businesses as "AI Pioneers."

The study, titled "Unleashing Potential: How GCC Organizations Can Transform AI Momentum into Sustainable Value at Scale," surveyed 200 senior executives and assessed 41 digital capabilities across seven sectors. It revealed that 37% of UAE organizations have already reached the "scaling" stage of digital maturity.

The study considered the UAE's achievement of this "scaling" stage of digital maturity a crucial shift from limited pilot projects to widespread implementation, positioning the country as a regional leader with an average maturity score of 46, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

Commenting on these results, Dr. Lars Littg, Managing Director, Partner, and Head of Technology and Digital Advantage for the Middle East at Boston Consulting Group, affirmed that the UAE’s remarkable progress as a developed market, and the high percentage of its organizations classified as “pioneers,” directly reflects the strength of its strategic investments in infrastructure and its firm commitment to the AI ​​2031 strategy.

Litgg explained that organizations classified as “pioneers” in the Gulf achieve 1.7 times higher total shareholder returns and 1.5 times higher operating profit margins compared to their slower-adopting counterparts.
