European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, that the European Union offers its full support to his country.
Reuters quoted von der Leyen as saying that the (Iranian) attacks on the UAE constitute a blatant violation of the country's sovereignty and a clear breach of international law.
Earlier today, the UAE Ministry of Defense announced that Emirati air defenses successfully intercepted a new wave of Iranian missiles launched towards the country, dealing with them with high efficiency and without any damage.
The Ministry of Defense affirmed its readiness to deal with any threats and that it is taking all necessary measures to firmly confront anything that aims to undermine the country's security and stability, stressing that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors is a top priority that cannot be compromised.
The Ministry stated that fragments of the intercepted missiles fell in various areas of Abu Dhabi, including Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, Bani Yas, Mohammed bin Zayed City, and Al Falah, confirming that there were no injuries in these locations.
The Ministry emphasized that this attack constitutes a blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law, and that it reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to protect its territory and citizens, ensuring the preservation of its sovereignty, security, and stability.
Later, the Ministry of Defense announced that the UAE's air defenses successfully intercepted a new wave of Iranian missiles and drones launched towards the country. The interception was carried out with high efficiency, without any significant material damage.
