"I'm so happy to be performing in Egypt!" Shakira sends a message in Arabic before her Pyramids concert.
Colombian superstar Shakira surprised her fans with a message in Arabic as she prepares to perform a major concert at the Giza Pyramids on April 7th, her first appearance there in 19 years, having last performed at the same location in 2007.
Before the concert, Shakira shared a short video on her official Instagram account, in which she addressed her fans in Arabic, saying: "Hello, I'm Shakira. I'm so happy to be performing in Egypt, in Giza, and at the Pyramids. I love you all."
The message also garnered widespread attention from the Egyptian and Arab public, and was shared extensively across social media platforms, with the video achieving over half a million views.
The highly anticipated concert is part of her Middle East tour, marking her return to performing for Arab audiences after a 15-year hiatus from the region.
The tour is scheduled to kick off on March 28 in Aqaba, followed by Doha on April 1, then a concert on Yas Island on April 4, before concluding with a performance in Jeddah on April 19 at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit as part of the Formula 1 events.
