Egyptian-Emirati Agreement on De-escalation and Protecting Yemeni Sovereignty

Egypt and the UAE have agreed to coordinate efforts to address regional crises, particularly those in Yemen, Gaza, and Sudan, as well as developments related to US President Donald Trump's peace plan.

During a phone call this morning between Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed, the two sides agreed on the importance of supporting de-escalation and the Yemeni national dialogue.

The Egyptian minister stressed the importance of reaching a comprehensive political settlement to the crisis in Yemen through an inclusive Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue that preserves Yemen's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and fulfills the aspirations of its people for security and stability.

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the call also addressed developments regarding the Palestinian issue, given the current catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and the efforts underway to implement President Trump's peace plan.

The call also addressed developments in Sudan and the importance of continued coordination within the framework of the Quartet Mechanism, with the aim of achieving a humanitarian truce, establishing safe havens and humanitarian corridors, and ultimately reaching a comprehensive ceasefire.

At the conclusion of the call, the two ministers agreed on the importance of continued close coordination and consultation in the coming period regarding various regional and international issues, in order to strengthen joint Arab action and contribute to achieving stability in the region.
