Remittances from Egyptians working abroad increased by 47.2% during the first eight months of this year, recording record inflows of approximately $26.6 billion, compared to approximately $18.1 billion during the same period last year.

According to data from the Central Bank of Egypt, remittances from Egyptians abroad increased by 32.6% during August, reaching approximately $3.5 billion, compared to approximately $2.6 billion in August 2024.

Remittances from Egyptians abroad grew by 66.2% during the 2024-25 fiscal year, reaching $36.5 billion, compared to approximately $21.9 billion during the 2023-24 fiscal year. Remittances from Egyptians working abroad are one of Egypt's most important sources of foreign currency, alongside Suez Canal revenues, tourism, and foreign direct investment.

Previously, the Central Bank of Egypt revealed that its net international reserves rose to $49.533 billion at the end of September 2025, compared to approximately $49.25 billion at the end of last August. Egypt's foreign exchange reserves increased by $283.5 million during September.

The steady growth in Egypt's net international reserves is supported by improved foreign currency revenues, as exports have witnessed a steady increase since the beginning of the year and increased tourism income.
