The UAE Establishes Itself as a Key Player on the AI Map
The UAE continues to consolidate its global leadership in the AI sector, relying on advanced national strategies aimed at integrating the latest technologies into various economic and service sectors. This contributes to enhancing its global competitiveness among the most advanced countries in modern technology.
G42 and its subsidiaries played a pivotal role in this momentum by developing smart and innovative solutions during the first half of this year, enhancing the country's capabilities in technology localization and enabling sustainability. Together, these companies operate in diverse sectors, including providing advanced services in health, energy, cybersecurity, culture, education, digital services, and other sectors, reflecting the UAE's leadership in the rapid adoption of AI technologies.
Emirates News Agency quoted officials from G42 companies as confirming that the companies' combined achievements embody the group's strategy to establish sovereign artificial intelligence while maintaining data security and operational efficiency. This underscores the UAE's position as a global center for innovation and AI leadership across vital sectors.
Hadi Anwar, CEO of CBX, explained that achieving digital sovereignty necessarily requires the deployment of effective cybersecurity. He noted that the company has integrated AI-powered cybersecurity into the core of its "Intelligence Network," employing AI technologies across three main pillars: prevention, detection, and response.
He pointed out that CBX launched automated threat detection and sovereign data protection services this year, specifically designed to support governments and major institutions, with the aim of enhancing trust in digital services while simultaneously developing technological capabilities.
Regarding the development of smart models, Ashish Koshy, CEO of Inception, said that the company continues to lead the development of agentic AI, developing specialized models for specific sectors, such as (In)Energy and (In)Climate, along with a range of general smart products that are not sector-specific.
He pointed to innovations that have delivered tangible practical value at the enterprise level, including (In)ExecEdge, an AI-powered product designed for board members, executives, and key management personnel, which helps organize meetings and deliver intelligent analysis in every discussion, and the fully autonomous (In)Business Procurement platform, which G42 is deploying to improve operational efficiency by 40 percent and reduce costs by 10 percent.
On the sovereign computing front, Kirill Evtimov, CEO of Core42, confirmed the company's continued expansion of its international presence through strategic investments in Europe, including France and Italy, in collaboration with AMD, Oréus, and iGenius, to support sovereign AI infrastructure and enhance the ability of countries and institutions to fully leverage these technologies. He noted that the establishment of a sovereign cloud, which supports more than 11 million daily interactions, in partnership with Microsoft and the Department of Government Empowerment, paves the way for the first government fully powered by AI by 2027.
In the energy sector, Magzan Kinisby, Acting CEO of AIQ, explained that the integration of AI into energy systems has enabled widespread automation, increased productivity, and reduced emissions. Initial results from the ENERGYai tool have shown an unprecedented 10x increase in seismic analysis interpretation speed and a 70 percent increase in accuracy, leading to a AED 340 million contract for the tool's widespread implementation within ADNOC's upstream operations.
Within the framework of technological and cultural innovation, during the first half of 2025, Analog played a key role in integrating robotic fleets and digital twin models into critical infrastructure, enabling proactive inspections, predictive maintenance, and enhanced asset security. Meanwhile, the company launched the 10,000 Drones Initiative, which combines advanced physical intelligence with immersive storytelling on a large scale, in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism, strengthening Abu Dhabi's position as a global hub for cultural innovation and entertainment.
During the same period, Astratech accelerated the transformation of its Botim platform into an integrated smart system focused on financial services. It serves more than 150 million users globally, providing seamless services that combine connectivity and smart technologies. This reflects G42's drive to promote financial inclusion and leverage artificial intelligence in everyday life.
