Egypt Intends to Launch a Medical Tourism Platform
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting to follow up on developments in medical tourism, review work organization standards, and emphasize the importance of providing high-quality services to attract health investments.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health stated in a statement posted on its Facebook page on Tuesday that the meeting addressed several topics, including project implementation requirements, the launch of the medical tourism platform, the organizational structure of the technical secretariat, financial budgets, and the national strategy for expanding services across all governorates according to the health map.
Minister Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the project's support for Egypt's Vision 2030 to become a regional and international hub for medical tourism, leveraging its geographical location and human competencies. Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the ministry, explained that the minister emphasized coordination with partner agencies to localize the medical tourism industry with innovative visions that enhance Egypt's leadership in healthcare and leverage its diverse tourism resources.
