Egypt's engineering exports exceed $4 billion in 8 months

Egyptian engineering industries exports increased by 11.77% during the first eight months of this year, recording approximately $4.187 billion, compared to $3.746 billion during the same period last year.

Sherif El Sayyad, head of the Egyptian Engineering Industries Export Council, said in a statement that the current levels of Egyptian engineering industries exports are the highest in the sector's history over an eight-month period, indicating a jump that could reach $6 billion by the end of this year. He explained that the increase was driven by a rise in exports from several key sectors, including automotive components by 24%, electrical and electronic industries by 18%, home appliances by 15%, transportation by 11%, technical and medical industries by 37%, and metals by 84%.

May Helmy, Executive Director of the Engineering Export Council, stated that the target markets for Egyptian exports witnessed a remarkable expansion during the period from January to August 2025, with a significant increase in Europe (the United Kingdom, Turkey, Slovakia, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Spain, and Slovenia), and Arab countries (the UAE, Iraq, Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and Syria).

In addition, there were markets in Asia (Azerbaijan, China, and Indonesia), Africa (Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa), and the United States. She pointed out the continued efforts of the Engineering Export Council to open new markets for Egyptian engineering products and increase the added value of exports.
