The UAE delegation continued its impressive performance at the 4th Gulf Games "Doha 2026," held from May 11 to 22, raising its medal count to 33: 6 gold, 9 silver, and 18 bronze. This tally reflects the strength of the UAE's participation and the diversity of its achievements across various sports.


Yesterday's competitions saw our national billiards team player, Mahmoud Sharif, win the gold medal in the 9-ball singles event, adding another achievement to Emirati billiards at the Gulf Games.


The athletics team secured six new medals. The men's 4x100m relay team won the silver medal with a time of 47.38 seconds, while the women's team took the bronze in the same event with a time of 54.39 seconds.

In the pole vault competition, young athlete Shahd Rashid Mubarak won the silver medal after setting a new national record of 3.25 meters, while Al-Yazia Tariq secured the bronze medal with a jump of 2.80 meters.


Nasser Al-Kathiri added a bronze medal in the javelin throw, while Obaid Al-Nuaimi won bronze in the 10-kilometer race. In equestrian events, rider Abdullah Humaid Al-Muhairi gifted the UAE the individual gold medal in show jumping after a remarkable performance.


The fencing team concluded its participation with three team medals: gold in the women's foil team event and silver medals in the men's and women's épée team events, confirming the remarkable progress of Emirati fencing at the Games.


Gulf Games "Doha 2026" 


In shooting, Fatima Al-Suwaidi won the silver medal in the women's rifle event, before the duo of Salem Al-Yamahi and Fatima Al-Suwaidi added the bronze medal in the 10-meter air rifle mixed event.


His Excellency Major General Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Murr, President of the UAE Athletics Federation, affirmed that the promising young athlete, Shahd Rashid Mubarak, represents a future champion in pole vault competitions. 

He pointed out that her achievements at such a young age reflect the significant progress witnessed in Emirati athletics, particularly in women's sports.
