UAE Ambassador Commends Pope Tawadros II's Efforts in Promoting Interfaith Dialogue and Peace

Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, met with His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. 

Mark, at the Papal Headquarters in Cairo. They discussed the strong relations between the UAE and Egypt and ways to enhance cooperation and support joint efforts to spread the values ​​of tolerance and human fraternity, and to establish dialogue as a bridge for understanding and peace among peoples.

During the meeting, Al Zaabi emphasized that the relations between Egypt and the UAE represent a model of deep-rooted fraternal ties and constructive cooperation, based on mutual respect and a shared vision that enshrines the values ​​of coexistence and dialogue as fundamental pillars for achieving development, stability, and prosperity in the region.

The UAE representative stated: “The UAE believes that the values ​​of tolerance and understanding are the foundation for the prosperity and stability of societies.” Coexistence represents a way of life and a steadfast policy guided by the exceptional vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. 

This vision is embodied in the Document on Human Fraternity, which established firm principles for coexistence and mutual respect, making the UAE a global beacon of peace and fraternity, and a shining example in the path of interfaith relations. This message of tolerance, love, and peace, emanated from Abu Dhabi.

He commended the efforts of Pope Tawadros II in promoting a culture of dialogue and peace among religions and in fostering harmony and rapprochement among peoples. He noted that these efforts complement the UAE's vision, which has made tolerance and coexistence fundamental pillars of its civilizational approach and humanitarian mission to build a world of respect.

For his part, Pope Tawadros II praised the pioneering role of the UAE's wise leadership in consolidating the values ​​of human fraternity and strengthening bridges of communication between peoples and religions. He lauded its pioneering initiatives, which embody a steadfast approach to promoting the values ​​of tolerance, peace, and coexistence, fostering understanding between different cultures, and elevating the importance of these values.
