Video Goes Viral: European Prime Ministers Jog Through the Streets of Egypt
A video that went viral on social media, showing European prime ministers jogging through the streets of Cairo with their wives, has generated widespread reactions in recent hours.
Social media users shared a video featuring Bart De Wever, the Prime Minister of Belgium, and his wife, and Dick Choupo-Marie, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, and his wife, jogging along the Ahl Masr promenade overlooking the Nile River in the Zamalek district of Cairo.
The video sparked widespread interaction and admiration on social media, with some commenting that it reflects the safety and security in Egypt, as the European ministers exercised without heavy security, projecting a positive image of the country's stability and encouraging tourism to Egypt, capitalizing on the momentum generated by the recent opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Social media users revealed that the video was taken during the visit of the two European leaders to Egypt for the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which took place last Saturday and was attended by a number of heads of state, kings, and presidents from several Arab and European countries. The Grand Egyptian Museum was inaugurated last Saturday evening in the presence of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, after more than two decades of construction, generating significant international interest and widespread momentum.
The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 18 heads of state, 8 prime ministers, 40 high-level ministerial and parliamentary delegations, as well as 6 delegations from regional and international organizations. The Egyptian State Information Service stated that hundreds of millions of people watched the ceremony via live broadcasts on thousands of channels and digital platforms, marking one of the most extensive media coverages of any cultural event in recent decades.
