After being transferred to intensive care, Sisi orders close monitoring of Omar Khairat's condition
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi directed on Tuesday that the health of artist Omar Khairat be closely monitored after he was transferred to intensive care following a deterioration in his condition.
Sisi tasked Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, with providing all necessary medical support to the renowned artist, ensuring he receives comprehensive healthcare. The Egyptian musician suffered a sudden health crisis that necessitated his hospitalization. A source close to Khairat revealed that he is suffering from shortness of breath and low blood oxygen levels after contracting a severe cold that led to serious complications.
His artistic engagements have been canceled.
The source added that upon his arrival at a private hospital in Cairo, he underwent medical examinations and tests, and doctors ordered his admission to the intensive care unit for close observation until his condition improves. The medical team treating him recommended that he remain in the hospital for the foreseeable future and avoid any exertion to prevent his condition from deteriorating. Consequently, the management of composer Omar Khairat decided to cancel all his upcoming artistic engagements until his health improves.
The renowned Egyptian composer shone as he performed his musical pieces at the opening ceremony of the Fustat Winter Festival in the Fustat Hills Garden in Old Cairo. Omar Ali Mahmoud Khairat was born on November 11, 1947, in the Sayeda Zeinab district of Cairo to a cultured and arts-loving family. His uncle, Abu Bakr Khairat, the celebrated architect and founder of the Egyptian Conservatory, enriched the Egyptian musical repertoire with symphonic works.
