Egypt and the UAE partner with EGP 5 billion investments for the "Egypt Air Taxi" service
Cairo witnessed the launch of the "Air Taxi Egypt" service, the first of its kind in Egypt, providing air taxi services in a strategic partnership between Egypt and the UAE. The launch took place during a grand celebration in front of the Giza Pyramids, attended by a number of ministers, dignitaries, ambassadors, businessmen, and media professionals.
In his speech during the celebration, Ambassador Hamad Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Cairo and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, expressed his pride in participating in this event, which reflects the deep brotherly relations between the UAE and the Arab Republic of Egypt. He emphasized that the project embodies a model of joint cooperation in the fields of development and modernization, and enhances Egypt's position as a leading destination for tourism and business.
For his part, Mahmoud Al Hameli, Group Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Aviation, emphasized that the launch of the "Air Taxi Egypt" project in Egypt represents a qualitative step towards developing transportation. Smart Air, emphasizing that Abu Dhabi Aviation Group continues its journey spanning more than five decades of supporting the aviation sector and providing advanced transportation solutions that contribute to promoting development and regional integration.
Engineer Tamer Wagih explained that the Air Taxi Egypt project marks the beginning of a new phase in Egypt's smart transportation and luxury tourism ecosystem, reflecting the country's drive toward sustainable solutions and advanced technology. He noted that the partnership between the three parties combines operational and commercial expertise to achieve a world-class air transportation experience.
The project is the result of a strategic partnership between one of the largest vertical aviation companies in the Middle East, with over 49 years of experience. It contributes its operational, training, and fleet management expertise, in a collaboration that reflects the integration of national capabilities and regional expertise in the field of advanced civil aviation.
TCM Economic Consulting, the consulting arm of Prime Egypt Group, is also participating in the project, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Aviation, playing a pivotal role in managing commercial operations, feasibility studies, marketing, and expansion within and outside Egypt. This will enhance the integration of local and regional expertise in developing modern air transportation solutions.
The ceremony also featured presentations that addressed the details. The project, its operational and expansion plans, were followed by a flight demonstration over the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum, amid extensive media coverage that highlighted the project's importance and role in supporting and developing Egypt's aviation sector.
A qualitative leap in Egyptian air transport
Air Taxi Egypt aims to radically transform the concept of transportation within Egypt, through short, fast flights connecting cities and tourist areas in minutes, using a fleet of modern helicopters operated according to the highest international safety and quality standards.
The first phase of operations will begin at Almaza Airport in Cairo and will include destinations such as the Administrative Capital, Sheikh Zayed, the North Coast, El Gouna, Siwa, New Valley, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor, and Aswan.
This service is expected to open new horizons for luxury tourism, corporate transportation, government and official events, as well as medical and emergency flights.
A luxury service with two classes
The service is offered in two main classes: Comfort Class and VIP Class, targeting multiple segments. Includes:
• Local and international tourists via short flights over the Pyramids, the Nile, and archaeological sites.
• Government and official delegations through private services equipped with secure communications and security escorts upon request.
• Companies and businessmen through monthly and annual operating contracts that include ground transportation, luxury lounges, and executive assistants.
The ceremony featured speeches by several representatives of the participating entities, including His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt; Mr. Mahmoud Al Hai Al Hamli, CEO of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group; and Engineer Tamer Wagih, Chairman of Prime Egypt Group and President of TCM.
Supporting Tourism and Investment
The project represents a qualitative addition to Egyptian tourism, especially in light of the increasing number of Arab and international visitors. Feasibility studies indicate that Egypt receives more than 11 million international tourists annually, and nearly two million Gulf tourists, opening a promising market for luxury and dedicated air transport services. The project is also expected to contribute to enhancing the attractiveness of new cities such as the Administrative Capital and New Alamein City, and facilitate access for investors and businessmen. Future Vision
Air Taxi Egypt plans to gradually expand its services to include tourist attractions in the Red Sea, Sinai, and the oases, launch an online booking application, and develop joint trips with major hotels and tourist resorts.
