Liverpool has written its name in gold in the annals of the English Premier League this season, winning the title, which has eluded them for the past four seasons, following a resounding 5-1 victory over visiting Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in the 34th round of the competition.

Liverpool won the prestigious title for the 20th time in its history, equaling the record for most wins in the competition with its traditional rival, Manchester United. The match saw Egyptian international star Mohamed Salah score again, after failing to score in Liverpool's last three matches in the competition, and is poised to make history in the prestigious tournament as well.

Dutch coach Arne Slot, who took over at the beginning of the current season after the departure of German Jürgen Klopp, also achieved a historic achievement, becoming the first Dutchman to win the prestigious title and the fifth coach to do so in his first season, following Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Manuel Pellegrini, and Antonio Conte.

In a festive atmosphere at Nuffield Stadium, packed with Liverpool fans, Tottenham took the lead through Dominic Solanke in the 12th minute, before Colombian Luis Diaz quickly equalized for the Reds in the 16th minute.

Argentine star Alexis Mac Allister added Liverpool's second goal in the 24th minute, while Dutchman Cody Gakpo added the third goal in the 34th minute, bringing the first half to a 3-1 lead for Dutch coach Arne Slot's team. Liverpool continued their brilliance in the second half, with Salah adding the fourth goal in the 63rd minute, becoming the all-time top scorer for a foreign player in the Premier League.

Salah, who has contributed 46 goals for Liverpool in the tournament this season, celebrated the goal with the fans in the stands in a unique and innovative way, receiving a mobile phone from a fan and taking a selfie with it.

Salah, who extended his contract with Liverpool for two years earlier this season, took his goal tally in the competition to 185 goals, with 183 for Liverpool and two for his former club Chelsea. He now sits in fifth place on the all-time list of the tournament's top scorers. He also became the top foreign scorer in the competition, breaking his partnership with retired Argentine Sergio Aguero, the former Manchester City striker.

The "Egyptian King," as Liverpool fans call him, strengthened his lead at the top of the tournament's scoring charts this season, taking his tally to 28 goals, six goals ahead of his closest competitor, Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak. He also provided 18 assists for his teammates. Salah is aiming to win the Golden Boot, awarded to the tournament's top scorer, for the fourth time in his career, joining retired Frenchman Thierry Henry, the former Arsenal star.

Salah didn't stop there; he also contributed to Liverpool's fifth goal, scored via an own goal by Tottenham's Italian Destiny Udogie in the 69th minute, after attempting to clear the ball from the Egyptian Pharaoh.

Liverpool, who needed just a draw to officially claim the title with four rounds remaining, now have 82 points, maintaining a 15-point lead over their closest rivals, Arsenal. Tottenham, on the other hand, have 37 points, sitting in 16th place, having suffered their sixth defeat in their last eight matches in the competition.

This title, which Liverpool won, is only their second in 35 years. It was also the first time during this period that they were allowed to celebrate in front of fans following their success in the 2019/20 season, which came during the COVID-19 pandemic.
