Abu Dhabi Host the 3rd International Conference on Dialogue Among Civilizations and Tolerance in June
The capital city of Abu Dhabi will host the third edition of the International Conference on Dialogue Among Civilizations and Tolerance, held under the theme "The Impact of New Media and Artificial Intelligence on the Family and Society," from June 3 to 5, 2026. This aligns with the vision of the UAE's wise leadership in declaring 2026 the "Year of the Family" and stems from a commitment to promoting the values of dialogue and tolerance and building cohesive societies.
The conference is sponsored by the Emirates Researchers Center for Research and Studies, in partnership with the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints USA, and with the support of the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau.
The third edition of the conference, held in Abu Dhabi, builds upon the success of the first two editions, continuing its role as an international intellectual and dialogue platform. Its aim is to solidify the values of tolerance, coexistence, and intercultural dialogue within the context of rapid digital transformations and new media.
The conference will explore how artificial intelligence technologies impact families and society, their role in shaping individual and collective consciousness, and their implications for family relationships and social identity, particularly among younger generations. Emphasis will be placed on the ethical application of these technologies to strengthen social cohesion, protect family values, and combat misinformation.
The conference brings together a distinguished group of representatives from governments, academic institutions, and international organizations, along with private sector partners, all united by a shared vision to promote intercultural dialogue, foster mutual understanding, and solidify the values of tolerance and coexistence in an era of unprecedented digital transformation.
The conference underscores the UAE's commitment to supporting constructive global dialogue and reinforces Abu Dhabi's position as a leading international hub for digital coexistence and intercultural cooperation.
The conference is expected to feature over 100 speakers from around the world, representing government, diplomatic, academic, media, and cultural sectors. The event is anticipated to attract more than 4,500 participants from over 120 countries, along with extensive media coverage across more than 160 platforms.
This international momentum underscores the conference's prominent position as an influential intellectual platform dedicated to exploring the future of the family and society in the age of new media and artificial intelligence, and to solidifying the values of tolerance and human coexistence in the digital age.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Researchers Center for Research and Studies, stated that holding this conference for the third time in Abu Dhabi embodies the UAE's commitment to protecting the family as the nucleus of society.
He added that raising awareness of the growing impact of new media and artificial intelligence on societal values. He added that technology, when managed consciously and responsibly, becomes an effective tool for supporting social cohesion and fostering a culture of tolerance and coexistence.
For his part, Dr. Sebi Ferghian, Director of the Institute for Religious Coexistence at the Abrahamic Family House, stated that with the increasing presence of artificial intelligence in shaping patterns of thought, communication, and human relationships, the question is no longer limited to what these technologies can offer, but also includes the values they should serve. Therefore, innovation paths must remain grounded in the principles of human dignity, empathy, and mutual respect.
He added that in a world being reshaped by algorithms, shared human values remain the foundation guiding technological development, strengthening family cohesion, deepening intercultural understanding, and consolidating the foundations of peaceful coexistence within societies.
Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Secretary-General of the Center, stated that rapid digital developments are reshaping patterns of interaction within society and posing new challenges that require institutional and ethical awareness in dealing with modern technologies. He emphasized that investing in digital culture contributes to guiding these transformations positively and enhances societies' ability to adapt and maintain their cohesion amidst rapid changes.
The conference will discuss a range of key themes reflecting the profound impact of digital transformations on families and society. These include digital education in the age of artificial intelligence (AI), strategies for fostering healthy family dynamics, the role of social media in shaping family identity and values, and the challenges and opportunities it presents.
