Abu Dhabi Ports Launches Integrated Land Logistics Network in the UAE
Abu Dhabi Ports has announced the establishment of an integrated, multimodal land logistics network comprising dry ports and freight depots connected to the railway network, including Abu Dhabi Industrial City (ICAD), part of the KIZAD Group.
This network will solidify the position of Khalifa Port and Fujairah Ports as vital gateways supporting the UAE's industrial sector and enhancing industrial shipping both locally and regionally.
To support these efforts, the group signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with four of the UAE's leading industrial companies: Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), Emsteel Group, Al Ghurair Steel, and Tenaris, to strengthen their role and position as key industrial shipping operators within the group's land logistics network, which is linked to the railway network.
Abu Dhabi Ports has announced the establishment of an integrated, multimodal land logistics network in the UAE. This logistics network aims to facilitate the movement of industrial inputs, finished products, and strategic goods, streamlining their flow across the country.
It will connect Khalifa Port and Fujairah ports to inland dry ports linked by the railway network, the ICAD industrial park, and freight depots throughout the UAE, providing an integrated logistics platform that supports the flow of goods between production sites, domestic markets, and regional trade corridors.
This network has been developed to enhance the performance of supply chains, providing more reliable flows of raw materials and industrial inputs to manufacturers in the UAE. It also offers greater flexibility in distributing finished and semi-finished goods through multiple land and gateway options, enhancing the resilience of trade corridors, reducing reliance on single gateways, and facilitating access to local and regional markets.
Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamsi, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, stated that the group looks forward to bolstering industrial logistics services in the UAE through the establishment of this integrated, multimodal land logistics network, supported by leading national industrial players.
He added that this network will connect Khalifa Port and Fujairah ports to a network of dry ports and rail-linked freight depots, enhancing the commercial use of the national railway infrastructure.
It will also provide better access to industrial inputs, greater export flexibility, and long-term competitiveness for national supply chains, in line with the vision and directives of our wise leadership.
